We’ve already covered Top 10 Dog Shampoos, so it’s time to look at some of the best conditioners for dogs!
Nothing feels as good as a dog that’s been conditioned using a high-quality conditioner, so I’ve done my best to track down only the best ones and compile them together so you can take your pick.
Like the previous article I put up on shampoos, I made sure to research every single ingredient listed for the following conditioners to make sure they are safe to be put on a dog.
Isle of Dogs Silky Conditioner
The Isle of Dogs Silky Conditioner is designed to condition and replenish fine, silky and tangle-prone hair.
It features an amazing Jasmine and Vanilla fragrance that comes in a 16.9-ounce bottle.
It’s a simple conditioner that smells great and leaves your dog’s coat super shiny and soft.
Burt’s Bees Oatmeal Conditioner
Burt’s Bees has been a quality brand for humans for decades, so it’s only natural that their line of dog products are just as good. The Burt’s Bees Oatmeal Conditioner smells amazing and keeps your dog looking their best.
It comes in a 10-ounce bottle as a pack of 1. The price is a decent one for what you’re getting, so I’ll usually just purchase 2 at a time.
The formula is made using Colloidal Oat Flour and Honey to moisturize and breathe new life into the quality of your dog’s skin, while giving their coat an amazing shine at the same time.
It doesn’t contain any Parabens, Phthalates, Petrochemicals, Synthetic Fragrances or Sulfates.
Listed below is a more detailed list of the ingredients used to make the conditioner:
- Coco Betaine
- Coco Glucoside
- Glyceryl Oleate
- Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate
- Xanthan Gum
- Camelia Sinensis Extract – Green Tea
- Colloidal Oatmeal
- Potassium Sorbate
- Sodium Benzoate
This conditioner won’t wash off any topical flea and/or tick treatments that may currently be applied to your dog, which is an added bonus.
Espree Silky Show Conditioner
The Espree Silky Show Conditioner comes in 1 gallon, or 3.79 L, which is quite the bang for your buck.
The formula uses Aloe Vera, Panthenol and Jojoba for a soft, clean and shiny coat in minutes.
Here is a more detailed list of ingredients used to make this conditioner:
- Natural Silk Protein
- Safflower Oil
- Aloe Vera
- Vitamins A, D and E
It’s the perfect conditioner to use if you want to bring your dog’s coat back to life. The rich formula improves the shine, manageability and overall texture of the coat, which is especially essential if your dog has a coat type that’s easily disheveled and knotted.
You can decide whether or not you want to dilute the formula yourself, but using it at full strength is the best way to get the best clean possible.
FURminator DeShedding Ultra Premium Conditioner
The FURminator DeShedding Ultra Premium Conditioner is an amazing cheap conditioner for dogs to invest in if your dog sheds endlessly.
You can choose between a 16-ounce bottle or a 32-ounce bottle, but I highly recommend the latter. Once you see how effective this shampoo is, you’re going to want a truck ton.
The undercoat is released by the conditioner during bath time to effectively reduce the amount your dog sheds.
The formula is made of Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids, Chamomile Extract and Aloe Vera to keep your dog’s coat healthy and smelling great.
It doesn’t contain any Parabens or Chemical Dyes, by the way.
Eqyss Avocado Mist Conditioner
Even though avocados are something that dogs cannot be fed, the Eqyss Avocado Mist Conditioner is 100% safe to use.
It comes in a 16-ounce bottle, but there’s an option for a 128-ounce bottle that will, hopefully, be available again in the near future.
It’s a mist-type conditioner that enhances the shine, conditions, and moisturizes your dog’s coat.
It’s designed to repel dust and dirt, won’t burn your pup’s eyes if it happens to make contact with them, and doesn’t create static.
The formula is a superior blend of Protein, Pathenol, Aloe Vera, and Avocado Extract. It doesn’t include Oil, Silicone, Wax, Alcohol, or any Synthetic Polymers.
It works by replenishing all of the natural oils that tend to be stripped from your dog’s coat during the shampoo process, which is especially needed in breeds with long hair. It also helps to reduce the amount of breakage.
Your dog doesn’t have to be wet for you to put it on them, it can be used on wet or dry hair all the same.
Isle of Dogs Conditioner for Dry Hair
I usually try not to duplicate more than 1 product from a brand in a single review, but the Isle of Dogs Conditioner for Dry Hair is a must-have for owners of dogs with wiry, dry coats.
You can opt for the 1 L bottle or the 250 ml bottle.
It’s made using moisture-enhancing Evening Primrose Oil and formulated to make your dog’s coat shine and replenish their dry hair.
It works by sealing the cuticle to prevent damage, which further creates a beautiful, soft coat.
Espana Silk Protein Conditioner
The Espana Silk Protein Conditioner is a specially formulated conditioner for dogs that will leave your pup with a beautiful coat.
You can choose from a 16.9-ounce bottle, a 33.8-ounce bottle, or a 135.2-ounce bottle, so lots of choices there.
The formula is pH balanced and helps to repair dry and/or damaged coats and skin while eliminating even the roughest of matting, static, and tangles.
This is a natural, water-based, biodegradable, non-oily, hypoallergenic conditioner. It doesn’t use any Petroleum, Pyrethrins, or any alcohol-based chemicals.
